Are you looking to develop your career by gaining experience and qualifications?
The Urdd has two types of apprenticeships on offer. You can complete an apprenticeship with us while staying in your current job or you can work with the Urdd full-time as an apprentice. Completing an apprenticeship takes between 15-21 months, depending on your chosen course, and at the end of this period you will have gained a Level 2 or 3 qualification, which are recognised in workplaces across the UK.
All our apprenticeship courses are free of charge and offered through the medium of Welsh or bilingually for individuals across the UK. The scheme is funded by the Welsh Government, meaning there is no cost to you.
Completing an apprenticeship while staying in your day job:
You do not have to work for the Urdd to complete an apprenticeship with us. We offer apprenticeships for anyone aged 16 and above who are already employed elsewhere. This means that you can up-skill, gain experience, and earn new qualifications whilst staying in your day-to-day job.
The apprenticeship course is free of charge. There will be no cost to you or your employer. The Urdd’s experienced staff will provide all the training and are ready to support you every step of the way.
We can offer apprenticeships for anyone over the age of 16 who work in the following fields:
- Primary, Secondary and SEN Schools
- Leisure Centres
- Sports Clubs
- Outdoor Centres
- Nurseries
- Youth Clubs
If you work in any of these fields, contact us today to start discussing your options. You may be at the start of your career or with years of experience but looking for a specific qualification.
Work for the Urdd as an Apprentice:
The Urdd offers full time jobs to those who are looking to gain experience, qualifications and earn money at the same time.
Anyone aged 16 and above can apply for a job with the Urdd as an apprentice and we have varying opportunities across Wales. We're looking for individuals who have an interest in sports or outdoor activities and who are ready to work with children and young people.
If successful, you will develop your skills with our experienced Sports and Apprenticeship Departments to learn how to successfully lead activities for children and young people across Wales.
