Secondment opportunity until Easter 2025
The Interventions service is looking to appoint a highly motivated individual on a secondment opportunity to lead on Elective Home Education and Child Employment within the Education Department.
The successful candidate will need to be an experienced qualified teacher, who has a good understanding of ALN processes and have experience and direct involvement in motivating children and young people who may have had difficulties attending school.
The successful candidate will ensure we are compliant with statutory guidance and legislation and that electively home educated children in Wrexham are receiving an appropriate education and that support and guidance is provided including exam entry where appropriate.
The successful candidate will need to show empathy and patience and maintain and build on already positive links with the Elective Home Education community.
The successful candidate will also maintain oversight of child employment within the Local Authority ensuring adherence to guidance and compliance with safeguarding procedures. This will including issuing child performance licences and permits.
An enhanced DBS is required for this position.
