The role:

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a Hospitality & Catering Lecturer to join the Hospitality Teaching team.

You will be required to deliver across a range of subjects, including Food Preparation and Food Service from Entry level up to Level 3, therefore your skills and experience as a Chef are essential, to the success of this role.

As part of the role, you will mentor and support learners in the training kitchens and prepare food with learners, for sale to the general public in the Vanilla Pod training restaurant.
  • Part time (18.5 hour per week)
  • Timetable may vary during each academic year, and is likely to include some evening work in the Training kitchen, within the college hours.

About you:
  • Possess a recognised Teaching Qualification, or willing to work towards.
  • Hold a relevant Degree or equivalent Vocational qualification (minimum Level 3), along with current industrial / kitchen experience within the Catering setting.
  • Have experience of successful teaching in a post-16 setting
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Passion for teaching and learning and a willingness to keep up to date with curriculum developments.
  • You will be able to run a successful RWE in the kitchen, while training and mentoring students in their training environment.
