The school is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic individual to the post of Level 2 School Support Officer to cover the maternity of one of our school office members. The successful candidate will be expected to have the experience and understanding to respond flexibly to different situations and inquiries. The post requires excellent interpersonal skills to deal with a variety of audiences including, pupils, staff, parents, external agencies and partners, the public and the wider community.

The successful candidate will be expected to have excellent communication skills, and the ability to deal sensitively and confidentially in intimate and complex situations including individuals who are experiencing difficulties or difficulties. Key to the role is the ability to work effectively as part of an extended team working closely with other administrative staff, the leadership team and the school progress team as well as external support and support services. Effective organisational skills and time management skills will be required to ensure that issues are addressed in a timely manner and that priorities are given due attention within a specific time limit. As communication and contact with parents is a key part of the role, the officer is expected to take a leading role in communicating clearly and consistently and being a personal face to answer queries and to allay concerns. The individual is expected to take responsibility for the image and layout of the school reception and reception areas ensuring that there is a warm friendly reception for visitors and that the reception is clean, professional and attractive.
