Job Description
We are seeking to appoint a 0.8 FTE specialist teacher of International Languages to work in a successful Languages, Literacy and Communication AOLE from 1st September 2024.
The successful applicant will have expertise in teaching French and/or Spanish to years 7-11 and be dedicated to the development and promotion of the subject area across the whole school community. We welcome applications from NQTs. Although the post is advertised as 0.8 FTE there may be scope to increase this in the future due to curriculum need.
The successful candidate will show an enthusiasm and dedication for planning, delivering and assessing high quality learning and teaching. They will be willing to participate in whole school initiatives to raise the profile of the subject, such as International Languages Day. The successful applicant needs to be confident in working on their own, using their initiative, as well as contributing to the AOLE as a whole.
We are delighted to share the positive statements from our most recent Estyn inspection. Estyn stated that "The school has refined and strengthened its wellbeing provision and this has had a positive impact on behaviour, attitudes to learning and attendance. This in turn has reinforced the school's high expectations of behaviour and attendance." We wish to build on this report and are seeking an excellent teacher with high expectations to support us in continuing our improvement journey.
We work hard to help grow caring, thoughtful and passionate pupils who are proud of themselves and the community they live in. We are so very pleased that ESTYN recognised this in their report, commenting specifically on, "The sense of a close and supportive community and team ethos are strong aspects of life at Milford Haven School," this is all thanks to the incredible hard work of our pupils, staff and wider school family.
Milford Haven is beautifully situated on the Pembrokeshire coast in an area where the quality of life is second to none. If you are an imaginative and energetic practitioner and want to make a difference to the life-chances of all groups of learners in your care, then this could be the post for you. Milford Haven School is on an upwards improvement journey and a successful candidate will continue this important work.
