- Be an excellent classroom practitioner who understands how children learn
- Have high expectations for the learning, behaviour and care of all pupils
- Have an excellent understanding of the current and developing Curriculum for Wales.
- Have a clear understanding of developing learner voice, pupil-led learning and improving wellbeing
- Be innovative and creative in their approach to teaching and learning.
- Have a clear understanding of formative and summative assessments, and tracking children's progress.
- Be someone who is committed, hard-working and keen to offer to the wider life of the school
- Have effective ICT and Welsh skills and can use these to enhance learning
- Be well organised and highly motivated
- Be someone who works extremely well as part of a team
- Have good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
